It is the oldest university in Spain and the Hispanic world and the third oldest in Europe, founded in 1252. It is a public university located in Salamanca.
Every year, it receives over 1,200 students through the Socrates and Erasmus programs.
Currently, the University of Salamanca consists of sixteen faculties, with various campuses in the city of Salamanca, and additional campuses in the cities of Ávila, Zamora, Béjar, and Villamayor.
