The Complutense University (UCM), commonly known as the Complutense, is the oldest public university in Madrid, considered one of the most important and prestigious universities in Spain and the Spanish-speaking world.
Furthermore, it is currently the 3rd largest face-to-face teaching university in Europe.
As an example of the historical importance of this university, of the eight Spanish Nobel Prize winners, seven studied or were professors at the Complutense University.
