Mediterranean University Residence

COCKROACHES!!! What was supposed to be a few days to disconnect turned into a nightmare. I found spoons in the room, so I reported it to reception, and their "solution" was to change my room. This didn't make me feel safe, so since it was two nights, I had no chance of finding something for the first night, but I did find something for the second, so I left. I informed reception, and they gave me a slip of paper confirming that I was leaving a day early. However, they commented that in the receptionist's country (Colombia) cockroaches aren't common, but here in Spain they're very common. I have no idea why she said that. After complaining through Booking.com, they told me the accommodation hadn't received a response. After contacting them, they said the terms and conditions state that cancellations are not allowed. I understand those terms if I'm leaving the accommodation by choice, not due to health concerns. So I asked for a complaint form, and their response was that they don't provide them and that if I want one, I should file a complaint with the consumer protection agency. It seems things aren't working this way. What was supposed to be a vacation has now turned into a nightmare. It's worth noting that they scanned my ID at check-in, which is an abuse of power, and I will be filing the appropriate complaint.

Good value for money, well-maintained, tidy and clean facilities. They also offer room cleaning, linen changes and internet access in the rooms.

Lovely residence! Very close to the University of Alicante, plus the rooms are super well equipped, the 2 years I stayed were the best and the people were very friendly.
